One unit instead of three
A rooftop unit provides cooling, heating and air exchange all year round, without a plant room, without pipework running through the hall and without three separate contractors. That is why shopping centres, cinemas, public buildings and production halls choose rooftop units.
Modern rooftop units with free cooling, heat recovery and inverter compressors can use 35 to 45% less energy than older designs. For a typical building this means annual savings of about 6,000 to 8,000 EUR, so the difference in purchase price pays back many times over the life of the unit.
How a rooftop unit works
Rooftop units are compact 3 in 1 units mounted directly on the roof and connected to the ventilation ducts. One casing contains the refrigeration circuit, the fans, the heating section and the controls.
